History
The Department of Management Studies was started in M.A.M. College of Engineering in the year 2008. The MBA programme is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and Affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. In the era of technology, doing business in the dynamic, complex world requires smartness and strong fundamental knowledge in the functional domain of the business. Exploring the tremendous opportunities with the dynamic challenges in the current business world requires the students to equip their mind and knowledge in a systematic manner and thus take right decisions at the right time.
The department of Management Studies offers specialization in marketing, finance, Human Resource Management, systems and operations management in the second year of the MBA programme. The emphasis of the MBA programme in terms of content and methodology is to provide holistic and value based education relevant to the country's progress in the field of business administration. It stimulates the budding managers to enquire intelligently about the various aspects of effective management in the current global scenario with impetus given on innovation, creativity, adaptability to change and multidisciplinary teamwork.

- The Entrepreneurship Development Cell is very effective in the department in organizing various ED awareness programs, camps, thus making students into future job generators.
- Add ons: Finance courses like Tally, NSE module are conducted to enrich the employability skills of the students.
- Placement oriented training is given to students along with regular classes to enable employability of the students.
- Aptitude training focusing on improving the quantitative aptitude skills of the students to come out successful in recruitment tests
- Soft skills training is given effectively with focus on mock interviews, group discussions and behavioural skills.
- Data Analysis and Business Modelling lab: Fully equipped laboratory with internet facility and software packages such as SPSS17, ERP 9.0, MS project

Guest lecture on branding of services by prof. Jeyarajasekaran. T (principal College of Hospital administration) Dr Somerville Memorial CSI Medical College thiruvanathapuram, kerala on 29/08/2019:
The entire session was all about branding of services. He emphasises the difference between perception and projection, branding is fulfilling the gap between the perseverance and projection of a particular product /service . According to him, Branding is adding some peculiarity to a product /service , branding is not just an accident it was a system to project the peculiarity/uniqueness of a product /services.branding is not just only projecting customer preference or expectations but also includes what we are carrying out to the society to satisfy the customers with an extraordinary products /services. He also implies that ‘’ The logo of a product wouldn't make a product famous the functionality of a product make the logo famous that is meant to be as branding ‘’ . He stressed the importance of Branding which act as a navigator for a customer to search for a product /service by its unique functioning, branding provides customer retention, if once the customer is attracted to a particular product or service they’ll purchase again and again which is the ultimate success of a brand. He insisted the vital role of strategic planning in branding, which is providing a product /service from the customer point of view(see the world through the eyes of customers) .
A guest lecture on Holistic personality (5/8/2019)
A Guest Lecture was organized by The Department of Management Studies, MAMCE on 5th Aug 2019 regarding Holistic Personality by Mrs V. Leema Peter who is a Psychologist and Motivational speaker. The entire session was focused on Motivation, Will power and Spirituality. She enforced the importance of motivation and its impact on every human beings. She also insisted that self motivation and will power are the two main things which can carry a person by himself throughout his career beyond all the hardships. She emphasised that with a great relative example of Actor Vikram, who met with an accident and got severe leg injury. At that time the actor gave up all his hope. An interview of actress Mayuri, who also lost her leg in an accident but succeeded in her life beyond that inability, which made the actor to rehabilitate himself. The willpower and self motivation of the actor sculptured himself to crash the box office.undefined

The Department of Management Studies organized a guest lecture on Management skills By Mr Ramachandran V (General Manager kothari sugars Pvt Ltd, katur). The session was mainly focused on essential skills required for management people. He clarifies that,“The world of careers and independent thinking is quite different from the academic world “. He also mentioned that Pg course is a gateway to a career and it is important to understand the other side well. He insisted that for every graduates “Greater depth will be needed, more analysis and critical thinking is expected, and the way of looking at an issue will be valuable to everyone “. He enforced that flexibility, self trust and growth mindset of believing that can improve work with effort. He also mentioned “Always have a spark within yourselves to excel in studies and come out successful in career ahead” and also increase your self confidence and develop your interpersonal skills so that you feel more confident dealing with people in the workplace. He insisted on the importance of communication skills which includes reading, writing,and speaking ability. Most of the employers Consider communication as one of the most important and prime skills they look for in applicants. He noted that multi linguistic talent will take your greater heights of success. He also stressed that employers nowadays need qualified business people who can help them to solve problems and make decisions.undefined
